When and how did mash begin?
In 1986, a partnership between 2 families.
What made you choose the name Mash?
Because we were doing army surplus before and M.A.S.H was the cult tv show
If you opened another store would you call it Bangers?
It would be better than Mish Mash

Oxford St, London
The front of Mash store is painted. Who does this and how often is it changed?
Goldtooth who is an underground artist from Australia. It is changed twice a year.
What would you say are your biggest influences?
Music, lifestyle and our biggest influences have come from travelling on buying trips.

Karim - Both
Maz - Blonde
If you hadn’t opened mash what would you be doing?
Kareem – I love travelling and would probably set up a trekking company in Morocco

How have you seen retail change over the years and how has it affected you?
Retail has definitely changed, before it was all very underground and laid back. Now, we have to work a lot harder to stay ahead of the game.
